Some of the spots in North County are hit and miss, but there is usually 1 or 2 spots in San Diego that are pushing out fish. Surf Perch seem to be everywhere, and some of the more out of the way beaches will get you the bigger Corbina. The usual spots in Oceanside have a good showing of croakers and beans...
Bay fishing has been really good. The back bay is producing numbers of bonefish and the magic pattern or live bait is of course shrimp. Both bays have been producing, however we have been focusing more on the Bigger bay...
The shark fishing is constant. Makos, blues, Makos, Blues... They are all out there. The water is warmer in sections off La Jolla and the Sharks are ACTIVE. Get out there now while you can. The increased temperature of the season, is drawing the latent schools of fish closer to shore and much easier to find and catch. Schools of bonita can be found straining the muscles of fly anglers and the larger pelagic game fish, although still a bit out - are coming closer to the shelf. School sized yellowtails along with Calicos are being found and caught with regularity in the Point Loma & La Jolla Kelp beds.
